Project School Recruitment for 2026/27

JC Project MuSE is a school-based music (Mu) and sports (S) education (E) programme, initiated and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Referencing the renowned El Sistema model and its benefits for the whole-person development of underprivileged children, the Project offers free, high-quality and tailored music and sports programmes to primary school children in the most impoverished areas of Hong Kong.

It aims to develop children’s artistic and physical literacy and to enhance their positive whole-person development, emotional well-being and academic advancement, thereby endowing them with the best opportunities for future growth and development.

JC Project MuSE is co-organised by Hong Kong Baptist University, SF&OC Sports Legacy, The Education University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

Its three-tier model offers entry level taster programmes; continuous trainings, including the formation of school ensembles and sports teams; and advanced music and sports training for exceptional talents. Other key components include professional development for music tutors and sports coaches, showcase performances and sports competitions, and parental support and community engagement.

Piloted in early 2024 and implemented since the 2024/25 school year, the Project is now implemented at 11 primary schools and recruiting five more schools in 2026/27 for a three-year participation until 2028/29. Primary schools from all districts are welcomed to apply. Details are listed below:
